Freedom Fandomat was presented in Almaty

A unique container recycling machine — the first Kazakhstani Fandomat from Freedom Holding Corp. and Freedom Shapagat Foundation — was installed in Almaty.

The initiative is designed to help form good habits around waste collection and separation as well as conscious consumption among Kazakhstani people. The first Fandomat was placed in the city centre — on Panfilov Street, above Tole Bi. Soon 100 Fandomats will appear in the most visited locations in Almaty and Astana.

Freedom Fandomat is an apparatus for collecting plastic bottles and aluminium cans for their further recycling. The body of the Fandomat is made of recycled iron: the metal was purchased from recycling centres and given a second life, and the electronics and software were developed by Kazakhstani engineers.

Residents and guests of Almaty appreciated the work of the Fandomat in action. Cash refunds for recycling containers through the Fandomat are applied on their Freedom Bank card or sent to a charity of their choice.
